Export 2D format outputs

Overview of the file formats DigiPara Liftdesigner can export a 2D drawing to, and which application to use for opening each one.

Written by Sabine Bunese

Export a drawing from your DigiPara Liftdesigner project as a PDF, DWG, or EMF file, so you can share it for review, hand it to a CAD draftsperson, or paste it into an Office document.

Prerequisites

  • DigiPara Liftdesigner is installed and licensed.

  • A project is open with the drawing sheet you want to export currently active.

Steps

  1. Open the Export ribbon tab. Click Export in the ribbon.

  2. Locate the "2D Drawing Exports" group. In the 2D Drawing Exports group, you'll see three buttons: PDF, DWG, and EMF.

  3. Click the button for the format you need.

    • Click PDF to export a file that opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader (or any PDF viewer).

    • Click DWG to export a file that opens in AutoCAD.

    • Click EMF to export a file that opens in Microsoft Office applications.

  4. Choose a save location and confirm. Each export dialog is different according to the file format:

PDF

DWG

EMF

Select the plot style and the sheets to be exported. It's also possible to create single-page PDFs.

Select the output type, the file type and which sheet should be exported. You may also choose the export directory and scale.

In the dialog that appears, choose where to save the file, optionally adjust the file name, and click Save.
