Prerequisites
Microsoft Excel installed — the Excel Reporting window embeds an actual Excel worksheet.
Your project has been saved at least once. The Excel Reporting window only activates for a stored project; it stays unavailable on an unsaved, new project.
Optionally, an Excel report template already prepared (e.g. one with formulas referencing project data), if you want to reuse an existing layout instead of the default.
Steps
Save your project.
If you haven't already — this is what activates the Excel Reporting window.Open the Excel Reporting window.
In the ribbon's Windows group, click Excel Reporting.
Create or select a report.
The window's toolbar has five icons: Create report, Delete report, Rename report, Open in Excel, and Reload report. Click Create report to start a new one. Use Load from template / Save as template to reuse a layout across projects.
Edit and manage the report as needed.
Click Open in Excel to edit the report in the full Excel application instead of the docking window, or edit cells inline. Click Reload report at any point to refresh these values from the current state of the project.
Result
The Excel Reporting window shows a live, editable spreadsheet reflecting your current project data. Saved as a template, the same report layout can be reused on future projects — the formulas repopulate automatically from each project's own data.
