This article is part of a strict, sequential step-by-step tutorial for building a landing door, a car door, their door assignment, door fixings, fixing groups, door jambs, and jamb wallopenings. Follow the steps in order — each later step builds on the result of the one before it.
Prerequisites
DigiPara Liftdesigner and DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager are installed, with write access to the DigiPara BIM Library data pool you want to extend.
Steps
1.) Find a similar landing door and note its manufacturer and RID. In DigiPara Liftdesigner, find a landing door close to what you want to build. Note its unique RID number and its manufacturer / BIM Library — both are needed to find the same record in the Datamanager.
2.) Copy the landing door in DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager. Select the matching landing door record and use the copy function. The new component is copied with all parameters and values into your manufacturer module. Step through the 3-step copy process to see the result in your module.
3.) Edit the meta data: description. In Edit Mode, add a new, specific description for the copied landing door. Open a new table tab to save the new content in the database. Confirm the result in the DigiPara BIM Library tree.
4.) Copy and paste data rows with the complete existing content. Select an existing data row and use Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V to fill down the data table with the complete existing content, rather than re-entering it by hand.
5.) Edit the meta data: door widths. Define the selectable door widths for the DigiPara Liftdesigner Properties window. Confirm the result by checking how the width choices appear in Liftdesigner.
Result
A new, independent landing door record exists in the DigiPara BIM Library, with its own description and a defined set of selectable door widths.
