Step 15 of 17: Copy the Jamb, Edit Its Meta Data, and Assign It to the Landing Door

PL4.15: Create and assign the related Jamb to your Landing Door

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This begins the "Door Jambs" work — a custom, user-defined jamb for the landing door.

Prerequisites

  • The landing door has its fixing group assigned.

Steps

1.) Copy the "No jamb" record. In DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager, copy a similar BIM component using the data row with JT_RID: 1 – No jamb. The new component is copied with all parameters and values into your manufacturer module.

2.) Edit the meta data: description. In Edit Mode, add a new, specific description for the copied jamb.

3.) Edit the meta data: type. Add a check mark to disable the door jamb function, and set its mode to 10 to deactivate the existing standard landing door jamb — since you'll build your own custom jamb geometry instead.

4.) Assign the new jamb to the landing door. Determine related BIM components for the landing door: choose your created jamb from your manufacturer library.

5.) Fill down the jamb assignment for all door widths. Click the box with the existing DD_JT_RID number, hold Shift and click the last box under that column, then use Fill Down to apply the jamb to every door width row.

6.) Load the landing door and its Developer Work Area. Load your edited landing door in DigiPara Liftdesigner — it now displays without the typical standard jamb. To create your own user-defined door jamb, select the landing door in the plan view and click Develop this BIM Component.

Result

The landing door's standard jamb is deactivated and replaced with your own jamb record, assigned across all door widths, ready for its own custom geometry.
