Step 16 of 17: Modify the Jamb's Simplified 3D Geometry

PL4.16: Modify the 3D Geometry in DigiPara Liftdesigner

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The landing door's Developer Work Area is open.

Steps

1.) Add and change the top transom panel profile. Add a profile for the top transom panel and change its Type to Flat Steel. Set its width using the DD_DW 3D parameter (expression [1]) and its panel width using parameter [0]. Set its depth using the DT_S_Y0 parameter (expression [31]). For the panel height, reuse the same meta data value you filled in for the DT_K 3D parameter in the landing door's data table. Define its Z0 position formula (half of DZ, plus the current landing door height).

2.) Add and change the left jamb profile. Add a new profile, change its Type to Flat Steel, and set its jamb width using the same meta data value as the landing door's DD_Z_X2 3D parameter. Set the depth using DT_S_Y0 (expression [31]). Build the jamb height from a formula combining two 3D parameters and one fixed value: Transom Panel Height + Door Height [1] + Sill Height [32]. Set the X0 position using the DD_DW parameter, and define the Y0 and Z0 positions.

3.) Add and define the additional sill profile. Add another profile, change its Type to Flat Steel, then define its size and position.

4.) Copy the finished jamb profile for the right side. Select the finished left jamb profile, press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V — the new copy has the same size and position as the original.

5.) Mirror the copy by reversing its X0 signs. Change the signs (+ / -) in the copied profile's X0 position formula so it sits correctly as the right jamb.

Result

The landing door now has a fully custom jamb assembly — top transom panel, left and right jambs, and an additional sill profile — replacing the deactivated standard jamb.

The landing door's custom jamb is saved in the DigiPara BIM Library.
