Step 3 of 8: Set Up the Modes and Create a New Profile Group for a Tank Without Standard Geometry

PL6.3: Create a Tank with Standard Geometry

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This begins the tutorial's second practice example — a tank with fully custom geometry instead of the built-in standard shape.

Prerequisites

  • The tank with standard geometry is completed.

Steps

1.) Switch off the standard Liftdesigner geometry. Set the Modes bitmask to include flag 4 — Do not use Standard Geometry — so the tank no longer builds itself from the standard size fields, and you can define your own profiles instead.

2.) Create a new profile group in case it was not created automatically. In DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager, create a new profile group for the tank and confirm the prompt with Yes.

3.) Add the first own oil storage tank profile. Specify the profile type (for example, a Flat bar profile) and its size. Without this step, no product will be visible in DigiPara Liftdesigner.

4.) Close the profile group data tables. Switch between the tables before closing them, to save the new content.

Result

The tank's standard geometry is switched off, and a new profile group with its first custom profile exists, ready to be loaded and developed further.
