Step 10 of 14: Create a New Wall Opening

EL1.10: Steel Shaft Practical Example

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The steel shaft practice project is prepared.

Steps

1.) Create a new opening. Select the shaft as the parent component, then click Add new under the Additional Wall Opening entry — a new editing area appears in the dialog box, with Position and Size fields.

2.) Adjust the size and designation. Set the opening's size and give it a designation. Positions are measured from the shaft base point — remember to account for the shaft wall thicknesses.

3.) Adjust the wall opening depth. Use the corresponding Properties docking window — easily find the new wall opening via the Breadcrumb window. The depth value is entered as a negative value.

Result

A new wall opening exists in the shaft, correctly sized, named, and with its depth set.
