Prerequisites
Dimension chain descriptions are understood, and their visibility/alignment configured.
Steps
1.) Arrange dimensions above or below. The entire dimension chain is rearranged, even if only one dimension in it was activated.
2.) Activate or deactivate individual dimensions. Use the corresponding Properties to switch individual dimensions on or off.
3.) Align the dimension text. Configure the text alignment individually per dimension — horizontally (Left / Center / Right) and vertically (Above / Default / Middle / Below). These options are the same ones available in the toolbar, just presented differently in the Properties — neither approach is more correct than the other.
4.) Choose an extension line style. Options are None, Short, and Standard. Extension lines can be set as a whole via the properties of the view frame or the sheet (this is the default level).
5.) Choose an arrowhead style. Options are None, Dots, and Standard (ByDimStyle).
Result
You can arrange dimension chains above/below, toggle individual dimensions on or off, align dimension text both horizontally and vertically, and set extension line and arrowhead styles at the dimension, view frame, or sheet level.
