Step 3 of 9: Register External Module Files

A4.3: Register external Files for a full Library Export

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • A manufacturer module exists, its validity is understood, and you know how to remove one correctly.

Steps

1.) Register your own files in the MODULE FILES table. Register files such as DWGs (title block, drawing border, etc.) via the MODULE FILES table for the module export — these files are transferred with the export and inserted automatically after an import into another data pool.

2.) Use a relative path. The path in the MODF_FILENAME column must be relative to the data pool directory.

Developers of dynamic sheet templates created in the Data Manager, in particular, should take note of this necessary step.

Result

Your external files are registered so they travel with the module on export and are inserted automatically when imported elsewhere.
