Configure Advanced View Frame Display Settings

Fine-tune how an existing view frame displays its content: crop it to a specific region, pin the car at a custom height, control where a landing door in a plan view is cut, or condense a vertical view to just the shaft head and pit.

Prerequisites

  • A view frame already added to a standard or dynamic sheet template.

Set a custom car position

Steps

  1. Set the car position in the view frame.
The Car position property in the properties window is available for plan and vertical views:
    - Default: standard view frame cabin position.
    - Top Service Floor: the cabin is shown aligned to the last floor.
    - Bottom Service Floor: the cabin is shown aligned to the first floor.
    - Top Service Floor incl. Runby: the cabin is shown aligned to the last floor + CWT runby value.
    - Bottom Service Floor incl. Runby: the cabin is shown aligned to the first floor + cabin runby value.
    - Top: CWT Buffer Compressed: the cabin is shown aligned to the last floor + the CWT buffer travel height.
    - Bottom: Buffer Compressed: the cabin is shown aligned to the first floor + the cabin buffer travel height.
    - Top Jump:
    - Bottom (CWT) Jump:
    - Custom: activates the parameter to customize the cabin position in the shaft.

  2. Adjust the car position manually.
The Custom option allows the user-defined positioning of the car in the view frame. Enter a Car Location value, in millimeters, relative to the first floor.

TIP: Each view frame can hold a different value — this makes it possible to show the car at different intermediate heights across a multi-view sheet.

Result

The car appears at the exact intermediate height required, individually per view frame.

Suppress intermediate floors in a Symbolic Representation view

Steps

  1. Open the Symbolic Representation settings of the vertical view.
Symbolic Representation is a display mode for vertical (sectional) views.

  2. Activate the suppression of intermediate floors mode.
This generates a condensed view showing only the shaft head and pit — the view is generated directly from the Symbolic Representation settings, and all dimensions are recalculated automatically relative to the total shaft height.

Result

A condensed overhead/pit detail view frame without manual adjustments or workarounds for intermediate floor content.

Set the clipping plane for landing doors in a plan view

Steps

  1. Select the plan view, then open its Clipping Plane option.
The Door Section Plane properties mirror the equivalent feature for Car Section Plane.

  2. Choose a door clipping plane.
Select the Door Section Plane mode 'Clipping' and choose between the following reference planes:
    - Finished floor: the delta value is relative to the building finish floor.
    - Half door height: the delta value is relative to the half of the door height.
    - Top of door: the delta value is relative to the clear opening height.

  3. Apply the additional offset parameter (optional).

Result

The cut position in the plan view is set manually, determining which door geometry is shown.
