How it works
By default, Liftdesigner displays the Start screen every time the program opens. It collects the actions you typically reach for at the beginning of a session — reopening a recent project, starting a new one, or browsing for an existing file — into a single window, so you don't have to navigate menus first.
You can reopen the Start screen at any time with the Start Page button in the Standard ribbon group. The Show page on startup check box controls whether it appears automatically each time the program launches.
The Shaft Wizard
The Shaft Wizard is what launches when you click New Elevator. Its job is to turn a handful of high-level inputs into a complete model.
Launch it from the Start screen (New Lift).
Fill in the project information.
Setup the building data - number of stops and travel height.
Enter the core sizing values — the payload and speed as well as entries.
Choose the machine room type, roping and rope alignment.
Select an available drawing template or individual sheets.
Let the wizard build the model — from those inputs, the shaft wizard compiles a complete 3D elevator model with all 2D drawings. This works because the program ships with an intelligent elevator configurator: predefined elevator parameters, component structure and elevator logic, so you don't build the logic yourself.
Refine the shaft and components afterward — adjust shaft width and depth, e.g. by inserting niches, changing car dimensions or exchanging door packages, and swap in specific components. For a modernization, this is where you adjust the influencing dimensions to fit the existing shaft and door dimensions given by the building.
RESULT: The wizard gets you to a working, dimensioned 3D-plus-2D project in a few clicks, then you fine-tune.
The Escalator Wizard
This is the escalator-and-moving-walk counterpart, launched from New Escalator.
Launch from New Escalator on the Start screen.
Pick the arrangement — DigiPara's escalator tooling supports common escalators with 12 escalator arrangements, plus horizontal moving walks, so you choose the configuration that matches your installation.
Enter the geometry — the rise/height to bridge, angle of inclination, and step/pallet width for the chosen arrangement.
Generate the model — the wizard assembles the escalator or moving-walk model the same way the Shaft Wizard does for elevators, ready for further detailing and drawing output.
The Liftdesigner Cloud
The Cloud is the delivery pipeline for BIM components — it's what keeps the manufacturer library in your install current without manual downloads.
It's connected automatically — your install talks to the Cloud, which manages all the supplier libraries linked to your contract.
The library syncs in the background — the Cloud manages all the supplier libraries, and whenever updates are available it tells you directly on the Start screen.
Install the updates you need — you don't have to take everything; install the library updates that are relevant to your work.
