Answers to common questions about project changes in Liftdesigner.

How do I rotate the pulley beam?

Symptom: You need to change the angle of the car's pulley beam, but there's no rotate handle for it in the plan view.

Solution:

  1. In the view frame, select the car/cwt pulley beam.

  2. The Properties table switches to the pulley beam's own properties.

  3. Find the Arrangement group and change the Pulley beam angle property.

Result: The pulley beam rotates to the angle you selected in the Arrangement field.

How do I get an additional hall button at an entrance?

Symptom: You need an additional hall buttons at an entrance — for example, on the top floor landing.

Solution:

  1. In the data tree, use the PANEL_COUNT variable to set how many hall button panels should be active. You can increase it up to 10, or decrease it, but not below 3 — Hall Button [Panel0.], Hall Display [Panel1.] and Fireman Switch [Panel2.] can't be removed.

  2. Select the hall button in a view frame, then click Hall Button X [PanelX.] in the quick-link, data tree or breadcrumb.

  3. Activate it and choose a model from the Select Product Navigator.

  4. Position the loaded hall button via the Position group in the Properties Window.

Result: The entrance shows the number of hall buttons you configured (3 up to 10), and the additional hall button is activated and positioned where you need it.

How do I place the traction machine on top of the CWT guide rails?

Symptom: In a typical MRL (machine-room-less) situation, you need the traction machine (TM) to sit on top of the counterweight (CWT) guide rails, but the standard machine bed doesn't fit this arrangement.

Solution:

  1. Select your traction machine, set the gear alignment relative to the CWT axis, and move it between the CWT guide rails using the X-/Y-Position parameters.

  2. Position it above the guide rails using the reference plane and reference plane position options — the reference plane dimension depends on your head room dimension and the distance of your guide rails to the shaft ceiling.

  3. Optional - Select the traction machine and click machine bed in the quick-link menu. At the top, set the component state to Inactive to deactivate the standard machine bed.

  4. Go back to the traction machine and select the Gear base construction unit. Activate it (the same way you deactivated the machine bed), then choose one via the Liftdesigner Navigator.

  5. Deactivate the profiles you don't need on the gear base construction — this depends on your CWT wall.

  6. Change the dimensions of the remaining profiles (typically the main vertical/horizontal beams) so they fit the guide rails.

Result: The traction machine sits on the gear base construction on top of the CWT guide rails, with the construction's profiles and dimensions fitted to your specific CWT wall arrangement.
