This article is part of a strict, sequential step-by-step tutorial for building a traction machine (gear) BIM component, including its CAD model, a low-LOD user component, variable Liftdesigner profiles, LOD settings, product options, dynamic rules, and render colors. Follow the steps in order — each later step builds on the result of the one before it.
Prerequisites
DigiPara Liftdesigner and DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager are installed, with write access to the DigiPara BIM Library data pool you want to extend.
Steps
1.) Add a record for the new traction machine. In DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager, add a new record for your traction machine in the Traction Machines table (L_GearArtTab).
2.) Add records for the new traction sheaves data. Add records for the new pulley types and for the new dimension types the traction machine needs for its sheaves.
Result
The Datamanager has the base records needed for a new traction machine and its traction sheaves, ready to be filled in with the details covered in the next step.
