Prerequisites
The base traction machine and sheave records exist.
Steps
1.) Review the general column layout. In the Traction Machines table, review the available columns — some of these parameters are used later for the traction machine's profile creation.
2.) Understand sub-object reference columns. Several columns reference sub objects — components loaded automatically with the traction machine, such as the (obsolete) bearing block, the (obsolete) hand wheel, the traction sheave group, and the gear frame. Each column specifies the default:
A value of 0 means the specific component is not required, and it will be set inactive in the final model.
A value of -1 means "no operation" — the component is typically determined by another component instead.
3.) Create a new Gear Performance Group. Add a record for a new Gear Performance, giving the traction machine its own performance record separate from other machines. Manually enter the RID number of the new Gear Performance Group into both GP_GRP and GA_GP_GRP.
4.) Create a new Profile Group. In DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager, create a new profile group for the traction machine, the same way as for any other BIM component.
5.) Assign the sheave to the traction machine. Set the GA_PUT_BASE_ID column to the RID of the traction sheave you want to assign, using the Select Product dialog to pick it from your manufacturer's traction sheave list.
Result
You understand how the traction machine's columns, sub-object references, gear performance group, profile group, and sheave assignment fit together, before building a concrete traction machine in the next step.
