Step 3 of 7: Load the Product and a Matching Traction Machine into Liftdesigner

PL10.3: Load the edited BIM Component in Liftdesigner

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The machine bed record exists under your manufacturer module, with its description, roping/sheave data, and gear-frame parameters defined.

Steps

1.) Load your edited machine bed into the project. Switch to Liftdesigner — your new machine bed now appears in the LD-Developer manufacturer library. Double-click it in to load it into the current project.

2.) Load a matching traction machine. From Common components, load an appropriate traction machine for this machine bed — this tutorial uses Planetary drive unit → Small type – Type L. When the product-selection process offers to automatically add a suitable gear frame, don't load it.

3.) Save your progress. At this point Liftdesigner should show the machine bed and traction machine together. Save the current project.

Result

The machine bed and a matching traction machine are both loaded and visible together in the test project, without an automatically added gear frame getting in the way of the geometry work in the next parts.
