Update the rope course with the Rope Wizard

Use the Rope Wizard to update an elevator's rope course in one guided, 5-step dialog.

Written by Sabine Bunese

The wizard is shared across components: it can be opened from the car frame, the pulley beam, the gear, or the counterweight.

Prerequisites

  • A DigiPara Liftdesigner project is open, with a car frame, pulley beam, gear, or counterweight already present.

Steps

  1. Open the Rope Wizard dialog.
Select the car frame, pulley beam, gear, or counterweight in the project. In the Properties Window, under the [0010] Tools group, click the … button next to Rope Wizard to open the dialog.

  2. Sheet (Optional).
The wizard recommends loading a predefined sheet template drawing (ROPEwizard Sheet), for better viewing and modification of the rope course. If no sheet is loaded, click Load Sheet, or continue without it.

  3. Pulley - Gear traction sheave.
Choose whether to leave the pulley Unchanged or Exchange it. If you choose Exchange, click Select… to pick a new pulley product from the component library. If more than one deflection pulley is used, check All deflection pulleys are the same to apply the same pulley to all of them.

  4. Pulley beam - Car frame.
Choose whether the pulley beam is Unchanged, Determined by the car frame, or set Semi-automatic or manual, then select the matching layout from the icons shown.

  5. Counterweight.
Select the counterweight's position from the six layout options shown.

  6. Gear.
Choose whether the gear arrangement is Unchanged, Traction sheave inside shaft, or Two deflection pulleys.

  7. Click Finish to apply your changes.

Result

The rope course — pulley, pulley beam, counterweight position, and gear arrangement — is updated according to the choices you made in the Rope Wizard.
