Step 10 of 13: Reload and Assign Occurrences and Profiles to the Product Options

PL5.10: Link the CAD Model Occurrences and simplified Profiles with Product Options.

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The product options and dynamic property are prepared in the Datamanager.

Steps

1.) Reload the modified BIM component. Make sure you're no longer in Edit Mode, then reload the gear by re-entering its RID in the Properties window (under [4210] Product Administration), so it picks up the changes you just made in the Datamanager.

2.) Select the CAD occurrences for each optional component. In the Occurrences docking window, identify the CAD occurrence(s) belonging to each of the five optional components (Brake Hand Release, Brake Bowden Cable, Forced Ventilation, 3rd Rope Retainer, Encoder AE-SMRS64).

3.) Assign each occurrence to its matching product option. In the occurrence's Properties window, set This Object belongs to Product Option to the matching option prepared in Datamanager.

4.) Test the assignment. Toggle the product option in the Options and Rules docking window (or the Properties window) and confirm the corresponding CAD occurrence switches on and off correctly.

5.) Assign any native Liftdesigner profiles to the matching product options. For any of the five optional components that also have a native Liftdesigner profile (from the user component or variable profiles created), select that profile and, in its Properties window, set This Object belongs to Product Option to the matching option — the same way as for the CAD occurrences in the previous step.

Result

Both the CAD occurrences and any related native Liftdesigner profiles now switch together, controlled by the same product options.
