Set up the service user in LDAWP Administrator

Point the LDAWP Administrator application at the service account LDAWP should run under, so its Data Pool and configuration settings are accessible to that account.

Written by Sabine Bunese

Prerequisites

  • LDAWP is installed.

  • The LDAWPServiceUser account exists.

  • If you're using a Non-Interactive Service Account, you also need access to the Windows account that was used to run the installer, to copy configuration data across.

Start the LDAWP Administrator

  1. Start the application.
The application normally starts automatically once installation completes. If it doesn't, go to:
Start > DigiPara > LDAWP Administrator and start it as Administrator.

Transfer data pool information to a Non-Interactive service user

This step is only needed when LDAWPServiceUser is a Non-Interactive account rather than a full Administrator account.

  1. Exit the DigiPara LDAWP Administrator.

  2. Copy the DigiPara folder.
Navigate to the local AppData folder of the account used for installation (e.g. C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local) and copy the DigiPara folder.

  3. Paste this folder into the service user's directory. C:\Users\LDAWPServiceUser\AppData\Local.

  4. Grant permissions.
Grant LDAWPServiceUser Full Control permissions for this folder and all its subdirectories.

Set the current user name

  1. Return to the LDAWP Administrator application.

  2. Change the Current User Name field.
Set the newly created LDAWPServiceUser. The full name must include both the domain (or server name) and the username.

NOTE: If LDAWPServiceUser is a member of the Administrators group, this field is auto-populated; if not, enter the credentials manually as described above.

Result: LDAWP Administrator is configured to run under LDAWPServiceUser, with that account able to access all required configuration and Data Pool settings.
