Step 11 of 14: Add Options & Rules for the Lights

PL9.11: Manage Dynamic Rules for Lights

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This uses the same copy-notes technique to build the lighting rule, including the "ambient light" geometry parameter.

Prerequisites

  • The Lights component is attached to the Car Ceiling.

Steps

1.) Copy the notes from a similar component's rule. Select all (Select All) and copy (Ctrl+C) the rule notes from a similar existing lights component — these notes will help when creating or changing the rule for your new lights.

2.) Paste the notes into your new lights' note document. Paste the copied notes (Ctrl+V) into your new lights component's rule documentation

3.) Reload the modified BIM component. Reload your BIM component in DigiPara Liftdesigner by manually swapping the RID number in the Properties window.

4.) Define the rule assignment, including the ambient light parameter. In the Rule Editor, define the assignment for the lights rule. One of the assignments references the P_H parameter of the specific DigiPara Liftdesigner geometry used for ambient light.

5.) Continue defining the remaining rule assignments. Work through the rest of the rule's assignment definitions — the rule's definitions give you a clue about what each one is about.

Result

The lights component has a working rule, including the special ambient light geometry parameter, built from a similar existing component's.
