Save to a New BIM Component

It handles the copy component workflow without requiring you to switch between Liftdesigner and Datamanager.

A new Save to a new BIM component option is available in the Save this BIM Component dialog.

Prerequisites

  • All current changes have been saved back to the database. The copy is based on the saved database table data, not the current unsaved state of the Data tree. Unsaved changes will not be included in the copy — save first, then copy.

Steps

  1. Review the tables to be copied.
    They are shown so you can confirm what will be included.

  2. Select the target manufacturer module.
    From the dropdown list, select your manufacturer module.

  3. The new record is created.
    Under the selected module, a new component is created with all associated tables.
    ​

Result

A complete copy of the BIM component under the target manufacturer module, immediately active for further editing.
