This article is part of a sequential step-by-step tutorial for defining your own BIM property groups, property sets, and individual properties in the Datamanager's BIM Properties table — available globally, in every elevator project that uses your manufacturer module, rather than in just one project at a time. Follow the steps in order — each later step builds on the result of the one before it.
Prerequisites
Your data pool is configured and the Datamanager is installed
A target manufacturer module/RID area to hold your custom properties exists — this walkthrough uses 75: LD-Developer
Basic familiarity with the Datamanager (see "What Is the Datamanager?")
Steps
1.) Open the BIM Properties table for your manufacturer. In the Datamanager, open the BIM Properties table and make sure you're working in the correct RID area for your manufacturer module (this walkthrough uses 75: LD-Developer).
2.) Create a BIM Property Group and Property Set. Add a row to L_BIMPropertyStandardTab to define your custom BIM Property Group (BPS_GRP) and BIM Property Set (BPS) — the container your individual properties will belong to.
3.) Decide whether the property set should be enabled by default. You can set the new BIM Property Set to be enabled by default, so it's active without the Liftdesigner user having to turn it on explicitly.
Result
A BIM Property Group and Property Set exist under your manufacturer module, ready to hold individual properties, with their default-enabled behavior decided.
