Prerequisites
Completed the preparation step — the practice project LDTrainingSampleA2_01.ld3 is created and saved.
Steps
Main Project Data
1.) Open the Main Project Data dialog. It gives you a simple initial overview of your elevator project: the general project data (used, for example, for title block content) and the overarching structure of the most important main components of your 3D elevator model.
2.) Change values and activate/deactivate components. In the dialog you can change values and properties, and activate or deactivate components. More components belong to the project than are shown by default — they're prepared and only need to be activated and selected from the library (for example, load hooks).
3.) Find additional components via the Data tree or Breadcrumb window. Inactive components are grayed out and marked with a key symbol.
Add load hooks
4.) Set the load hook count. Modify the LOAD_HOOK_COUNT variable of the desired component (here: the counterweight).
5.) Activate the load hook geometry. Select the load hook via the Data tree, then select its type via the Navigator.
6.) Add multiple load hooks. Set the count variable to the desired number, then optimize the relative positions of the individual load hooks.
Component state
7.) Understand the effect of Active/Inactive. Changing a component's state affects the entire elevator model — for example, the shaft size — and the associated logic for the component is no longer considered. To hide a component in a single view frame only, use Component Visibility instead (see A3 – Drawing Creation Fundamentals).
Result
You can use Main Project Data to review and change project data, find and activate prepared components (such as one or several load hooks), and you understand that a component's Active/Inactive state affects the whole elevator model.
