Step 4 of 14: Edit the Meta Data and Assemble the Wall Hierarchy

PL9.4: Edit the Description and determine related Wall Components

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This works bottom-up: describe and configure the Single Car Wall Panels first, assign them to the Car Walls, describe the Car Walls, then assign the Car Walls to the Car Design.

Prerequisites

  • The Car Design, Car Walls, and Single Car Wall Panels are all copied.

Steps

1.) Describe the Single Car Wall Panels. Add a new, specific description for the copied panel component, saving via a new table tab.

2.) Review the panel's parameters and values. The corresponding developer .dwg file with explanations of the component's parameters loads automatically (from ...\dcc\DataPool\developer\dwg). Use it to understand the panel's fields before continuing.

3.) Describe the Car Walls and define their size and arrangement. Add a new description for each copied Car Wall, then define its size and arrangement fields.

4.) Assign the Single Car Wall Panels to the Car Walls. For each Car Wall, determine related BIM components and assign the Single Car Wall Panels you configured in step 1.

5.) Describe the Car Design. Add a new, specific description for the copied Car Design, saving via a new table tab.

6.) Assign the Car Walls to the Car Design, and load the result. Determine related BIM components for the Car Design and assign the four Car Walls you configured. Then load your edited BIM component in DigiPara Liftdesigner and confirm the result in the BIM Library.

Result

The three-level wall hierarchy — Single Car Wall Panels, Car Walls, Car Design — is fully described and assembled, and visible in DigiPara Liftdesigner.
