Install Liftdesigner module updates via WebAdmin

Update Liftdesigner modules on the server through LDAWP WebAdmin with no Remote Desktop access required.

Written by Sabine Bunese

Prerequisites

  • LDAWP Web Admin access is configured and you can log in.

  • No LDOOP instance is currently active on the server — neither update method can start while one is running.

  • For a Liftdesigner Cloud update specifically: an active DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud contract.

Enable Maintenance Mode (recommended)

Before starting either update method below, enable Maintenance Mode to prevent new drawing generations from starting mid-update:

  1. Open the Maintenance section.
Log in to LDAWP WebAdmin and go to the maintance section.

  2. Enable Maintenance Mode.
For LDAWP specifically — this prevents the initiation of new drawing generations. Alternatively, toggle Maintenance Mode for all installed IIS web applications or web services at once, if you need a broader pause.

NOTE: Neither update method can start while an LDOOP instance is active on the server — check the Processes section first if an update doesn't seem to begin.

Update by manual upload (Upgrades)

Manually upload and import a Liftdesigner module (.ldm12) into the server's data pool.

  1. Open the Upgrades section.

  2. Click Choose files and select the Liftdesigner module(s) (.ldm12) to import.

  3. Click Upload to start the import.

  4. Monitor the status notifications until the data pool update completes.

Result: The selected Liftdesigner module(s) are imported into the server's data pool.

Update via Liftdesigner Cloud (LD Cloud Updates)

Seamlessly update installed Liftdesigner Cloud modules without a Remote Desktop (RDP) connection to the server.

  1. Open the LD Cloud Updates section.

  2. Start the update. LDAWP WebAdmin retrieves and installs the available Liftdesigner Cloud module update(s) for the server.

Result: The server's Liftdesigner Cloud modules are updated, without requiring an RDP connection.
