This begins the tutorial's second, optional example: rule-based vertical detail sections, starting with the pit detail on the CWT-left project.
Prerequisites
Completed previous steps.
Familiarity with drawing creation fundamentals for detail sections.
Steps
1.) Create a new vertical section for the pit. On the CWT_L project, create a new vertical section, change its description to "Vertical Section Pit CWT_L", and set its view frame type, component visibility, and dimensions.
2.) Modify the new vertical section. Delete the car and the car/counterweight ghost, and add extended dimensions for the CWT guide rails and bracket.
3.) Define rules for the vertical detail section. Create a new rule-based detail section covering both the Y-max/min and Z-max/min directions.
For the Y-direction, the reference point is the shaft base point — for example
LD("Shaft0.W_1"), whereLD(...)indicates a referenced numeric Liftdesigner value and"Shaft0.W_1"is the Data tree value name. For the Z-direction, the reference point is the first level; simple mathematical calculations can be used here.
4.) Save your own vertical section. Save the new vertical section inside the existing MyDST-Viewframe folder, as VerticalSectionPit_CWT_L.
Result
A rule-based vertical section for the pit detail exists for the CWT-left project, with its Y and Z extents driven by Liftdesigner Data tree values instead of fixed coordinates.
