Step 14 of 16: Configure the DST for the Vertical Sections

B2.14: Link the View Frames and Frame Groups

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This applies the same frame-group/sheet-group configuration pattern from the previos steps to the four vertical section views.

Prerequisites

  • All four vertical section view frames (pit and head, CWT_L and CWT_R) exist.

Steps

1.) Define frame groups for the vertical sections. Add new frame groups referencing the four vertical section view frames.

2.) Create dynamic rules for the frame groups. Add view frame condition rules via the SHFRITEM_CONDITION column, comparing Liftdesigner Data tree variables — the same rule syntax covered in plan view steps — so the correct pit/head and left/right section loads for each project.

3.) Link the frame groups to a sheet group, and load your DST. Link the frame groups to a sheet group — if a frame group doesn't appear in the SHEETIT_SHFRGRP_RID column, close and reopen the Sheet Group table once to refresh it. Then load the finished DST configuration for the CWT-left and CWT-right location in Liftdesigner.

Result

The four vertical section views are configured as a DST, correctly selecting the right pit/head and left/right section for each project.
