Step 14 of 16: Delete Dimensions Using View Frame Overwrites

EL2.14: Sheet Templates Settings for Shaft Groups - Dimensions

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • View frames and annotations for the shaft group are configured.

Steps

1.) Understand extended operations for shaft group view frames. Extended *operations let you use view frame overwrites for more dynamic view frames. For background on the Overwrites system itself, see B1 – Sheet Templates.

2.) Use the Overwrites docking window. It gives a clear, organized overview of every edit made within the current view frame. *Operations in the overwrites let you apply a change to multiple elements at once — every shaft, each entry, or even a specific one like the second-to-last.

3.) Delete unnecessary dimensions — wall thicknesses example. Delete all unnecessary wall-thickness dimensions using View Frame Overwrites.

4.) Build the result — a schematic plan view. Create a new sheet for a schematic plan view representation, switching off unnecessary component and dimension groups.

Result

You can use the Overwrites docking window and *operations to delete unnecessary dimensions across a shaft group, building a clean schematic plan view sheet as a result.
