Step 15 of 16: Use Annotation Overwrites in Plan Views

EL2.15: Sheet Templates Settings for Shaft Groups - Annotations

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • You can delete dimensions across a shaft group using Overwrites and *operations.

Steps

1.) Prepare a 4×4 shaft group. Copy shafts and align them accordingly, rename the descriptions, add shaft walls and separator beams, and decrease the number of floors to improve performance for this example.

2.) Understand annotation overwrites for more dynamic view frames. Use overwrites for annotations, including extended *operations and the special shaft selector options now available.

3.) Practical example 1 — *{Bank1}. Places the annotation on all shafts in Bank 1.

4.) Practical example 2 — *{Bank1, IndexFromEnd, -2}. Always placed at the second-to-last shaft of Bank 1.

5.) Practical example 3 — *{Bank2, First}. The annotation is always placed at the first shaft of Bank 2.

Result

You can place annotations across a shaft group using extended *operations targeting a whole bank, a position relative to the end, or a specific position like "first," rather than a fixed shaft index.
