Step 6 of 9: Practical Example: Copy and Edit a Governor Component

A4.6: Product Loading Basic Workflow

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This walks through the three Basic Typical Processes that recur across every Product Loading tutorial, using a governor as the concrete example.

Prerequisites

  • A dedicated development data pool exists.

  • You have started Liftdesigner and created an elevator project.

Steps

1.) Understand the three Basic Typical Processes. Every Product Loading workflow follows the same three steps:

  1. copy a similar BIM component in the Datamanager

  2. edit its meta data in the DataManager

  3. load your edited BIM component in DigiPara Liftdesigner

2.) Find a similar governor in DigiPara Liftdesigner. Note its manufacturer / BIM Library and its unique RID number.

3.) Copy the governor in the DataManager. Steps 1–3 of the copy wizard guide you through this — the component is copied with all parameters and values into a new manufacturer / DigiPara BIM Library. Finish the copy process and open the newly copied component.

4.) Edit the meta data and diameter. Add a new, specific description for the copied component. Remember you're in Edit Mode — open a new table to save the new content in the database.

5.) Load your edited governor in DigiPara Liftdesigner. Confirm the edited component loads correctly.

Result

You've worked through the three Basic Typical Processes end to end on a concrete example — a governor copied, described, and loaded.
