Build an Elevator Project

Written by Sabine Bunese

What this guide delivers

A presentation-ready 3D model and drawing package for your sales quote — not a production-ready model. Have the design verified by engineering before submitting a binding offer.

What you need

  • Travel height and number of stops

  • Shaft dimensions

  • Elevator type (passenger, freight, bed lift, …)

Step by step

  1. Choose the elevator class
Pick from thousands of duty tables. Standard templates are pre-built for passenger lifts (8 persons / 630 kg, 13 persons / 1000 kg), freight lifts (1600 kg) and bed lifts.

  2. Set travel height and entrance levels
After project creation, edit the travel height and entrance levels in the Shaft Configurator. Insert, delete or group entrances as needed.

  3. Confirm the shaft dimensions
Adjust shaft width and depth by setting the distances between shaft walls and cabin. Defaults match the chosen elevator class.

  4. Accept the standard components
Liftdesigner pre-fills gears, car frames, doors and more from its standard library. Swap any individual item later if needed.

  5. Edit project information
Use the 'Main Project Data' dialog to edit project details (e.g., project name, draftsman, date) directly in the drawing.
