Step 5 of 14: Delete Unneeded Profiles and Save the Guide Shoe

PL3.5: Delete unneeded Liftdesigner Profiles

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The guide shoe's CAD model is added, aligned, and positioned.

Steps

1.) Delete any DigiPara Liftdesigner profiles the CAD model has made redundant. Now that the CAD model represents the guide shoe's geometry, any leftover native DigiPara Liftdesigner profiles from the original copied component are no longer needed. Open the Additional Objects docking window and remove them there.

2.) Select the developer section to save. Before saving, select the relevant developer section for the finished guide shoe.

3.) Save the finished guide shoe into the DigiPara BIM Library. On the Develop BIM Components ribbon tab, click Save this BIM Component. In DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager, check the Additional Components table for the saved component — the CAD model is stored there as an embedded copy in the DigiPara BIM Library, completely independent of the original file.

Result

The guide shoe is complete: its CAD model is in place, unneeded native profiles are removed, and the finished component — including an embedded, independent copy of the CAD model — is saved in the DigiPara BIM Library.
