Prerequisites
The car frame's CAD models are inserted and aligned.
Steps
1.) Delete any DigiPara Liftdesigner profiles the CAD models have made redundant. Open the Additional Objects docking window and remove any leftover native profiles no longer needed now that the CAD models represent that geometry.
2.) Set the car frame's positioning points. Even when a car frame is built from CAD models, the characteristic points used to position related components must still be set correctly — this depends on the underlying parameter values being filled in correctly in the Datamanager. Go through each relevant point and confirm its position, comparing the result "before" and "after" for:
Guide shoes
Buffer
Traveling cable
Pulley beam
3.) Save the finished car frame into the DigiPara BIM Library. On the Develop BIM Components ribbon tab, click Save this BIM Component. As with the guide shoe, the car frame's CAD models are stored as embedded copies in the DigiPara BIM Library, completely independent of the original files.
Result
The car frame's positioning points are correctly set despite using CAD models for its geometry, and the finished component — with all its CAD models embedded — is saved in the DigiPara BIM Library. This completes the core car frame workflow; the remaining steps are optional refinements.
