Step 14 of 14: Delete Unneeded Data

PL3.14: Delete unneeded copied Data from the source Component

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Final part of the sequential CAD Models tutorial. This step tidies up leftover data from the copy operations earlier in the tutorial.

Prerequisites

  • The car frame's dynamic rule is working as expected.

Steps

1.) Remove leftover copied data that ended up unused. In DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager, review the car frame's record for data that was copied along from the source component early in the tutorial but never actually used in your finished version — in particular:

  • Copied user-defined parameter values that were never assigned to anything.

  • Copied dynamic properties that were never referenced by a rule or product option.

Remove any such leftover entries to keep the component's data clean.

Result

The car frame's data in the DigiPara BIM Library only contains what the finished component actually uses.

Tutorial complete

This was the final step of the CAD Models tutorial. You've built a static BIM component from a CAD model (the guide shoe) and a dynamic BIM component combining CAD models with native Liftdesigner profiles, positioning points, product options, and a dynamic rule (the car frame) — then cleaned up the leftover data from the copy process.
