This article is part of a strict, sequential step-by-step tutorial for setting up and managing translated drawing text in DigiPara Liftdesigner — referencing messages instead of fixed text, registering and translating them, managing them in Excel, and distributing them. Follow the steps in order — each later step builds on the result of the one before it.
Prerequisites
DigiPara Liftdesigner and DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager are installed, with write access to the data pool you want to extend.
Steps
1.) Understand what a "MessageNo" is. A MessageNo defines a word or sentence. Its identifier is MSGNO_RID. A MessageNo can have an unlimited number of translations, and is used to organize those translations as a group.
2.) Understand what a "Message" is. A Message is one translation belonging to a MessageNo. Its text is stored in DMSG_TEXT, and DMSG_DLG_RID refers to the related language.
Result
You understand the two core building blocks of DigiPara Liftdesigner's translation system: a MessageNo groups together any number of Messages, each a translation into one language.
