Step 5 of 16: Prepare a Double Deck Practice Project and Understand the Workflow

EL2.5: Understand the recommended Workflow a to create Double Deck Elevator in Liftdesigner

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This begins a practice Double Deck section — general tips for creating large, complex elevator groups efficiently.

Prerequisites

  • Sloppy Mode and the Performance Profiler are understood.

Steps

1.) The 9-step recommended workflow. For creating large and complex elevator groups:

Workflow Step 1: Create a project with few floors

Workflow Step 2: Exchange basic components

Workflow Step 3: Modify necessary parameters

Workflow Step 4: Adapt car and counterweight position

Workflow Step 5: Add shaft groups

Workflow Step 6: Separator beam / shaft wall

Workflow Step 7: Adapt and position related components

Workflow Step 8: Use Sloppy Mode

Workflow Step 9: Increase the number of floors.

2.) Create the double deck practice project. Using the Shaft Wizard, create a project with:

  • 5 floors, typical floor-to-floor distance 3000 mm

  • Consider travel: No

  • Traction elevator, 1:1 roping

  • 24 persons / 1800 kg

  • Machine room: Top

  • Car roping: top (without pulley), with CW safety gear

  • Counterweight roping: rear, top (without pulley)

  • Sheet templates: not necessary

  • Car size: width 2000 mm, depth 1700 mm

  • Counterweight size: thickness 270 mm, height 4500 mm, distance between guides 1450 mm

  • Shaft size: width 2500 mm, depth 2500 mm

  • Entrances: front on all floors

  • Speed: 6 m/s

  • Adjust the rail bracket geometry

  • Save the project as LDTrainingSampleDouble.ld3.

3.) Workflow Step 1 — prepare your views. Prepare a Plan view, a Section view from Left, and a Section view from Front.

Result

You know the 9-step recommended workflow for building large elevator groups efficiently, a double deck practice project exists, and its views are prepared.
