Step 16 of 17: Understand Title Blocks, Drawing Borders, and the Standard DWG Directory

A3.16: Title Blocks and Drawing Borders

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • You can load external DWG blocks and trace their references with Go to External.

Steps

1.) Understand the titl_ prefix. Title block files start with titl_; in AutoCAD, this is how you recognize a standard DigiPara Liftdesigner title block DWG.

2.) Understand the title block's insertion point. The object in the title block's lower-left corner specifies its insertion point, which automatically aligns with the lower-left corner of the drawing border in DigiPara Liftdesigner.

3.) Understand the bord_ prefix. Drawing border files start with bord_.

4.) Know the standard DWG directory. External blocks (DWG, DXF) are stored in the DigiPara Liftdesigner data pool's blocks directory — for example, C:\DigiPara\Datapool\blocks.

Result

You can recognize title block (titl_) and drawing border (bord_) files by their prefix, understand how a title block's insertion point aligns automatically, and know where external blocks are stored in the data pool.
